Declan Lowney is a six-time BAFTA nominee, two-time BAFTA winner, and two of his shows have won international EMMYs. The film director is best known for his work with television series Moone Boy, UK Empire Awards Best Comedy winning film, Alan Partridge, and his most recent success with Apple TV’s hit show Ted Lasso.

Declan Lowney
Declan Lowney was born in Wexford, Ireland where he discovered his passion for filmmaking at the age of twelve with his uncle’s Super 8 camera. Despite his parents’ efforts to make him pursue a career in law, he continued to chase his passion of filmmaking. In 1980, at the age of twenty, Lowney won his first award, a Critics Choice award for Outstanding Irish Film at the Cork Film Festival for his short film, Wavelength. The rest became history as Lowney went on to film and produce dozens of more movies and television series, winning many well-deserved awards along the way.
